This is crucial! Spend your first 10 minutes going from a walk to a brisk walk to a jog to your day's training pace. Then spend the last 10 minutes doing that in reverse order.

Do NOT make the classic rookie mistake of sprinting to the end (smelling the barn, as the old saying goes). That process sets you up for injuries and longer recovery times.
