The Kenosha police union’s deadly bullshit

Even for police union statements, this is pathetic

“Mr. Blake was not unarmed. He was armed with a knife. The officers did not see the knife initially,”

There is video. We all saw the cop shoot Mr. Blake in the back. We did not see a knife.

“Mr. Blake forcefully fought with the officers,” including putting one of the officers in a headlock.

How was Mr. Black able to fight his attackers and put one of them in a headlock without any of the cops ever seeing a knife?

“The car did not belong to Mr. Blake.”

What on earth does this have to do with anything?

The fact of the matter is that you don’t need a year of police training to know that you do not fire a weapon unless you (the cop) or a member of the public are in immediate danger. If Mr. Blake was going to use a knife against the police officers attempting to restrain him, why didn’t he use it when he had one of them in a headlock?

The cops who shot Mr. Blake had every opportunity to disengage. They could have backed up and de-escalated, allowing the situation to be resolved at a later time. As it was, Mr. Blake was not attacking, he was not brandishing a knife and lunging at a crew of armed officers.

Kyle Rittenhouse can shoot 3 people (killing two of them) and just go home with his AR-15 but Mr. Blake can’t leave with a knife and three little children?
