Thank you for writing this, Leigh. Thank you, especially, for sharing your doubts and mistakes. As the parent of two biracial boys, I've had my share of the former and my share of the latter. Especially as the true nature of the racism in our society has come to the fore (thanks to smartphones, more than White consciousness), my doubts and fears have been amplified. But my sons are smart, proud, and focused young men. Both are attending highly selective colleges. I really believe that your generation has a chance to move past this ongoing cycle of oppression and craziness. At least, to make a start. I'm sure that my generation has failed.
