Right, part of the wypipo code is that we do not recognize or mention race in the wrong context. The wrong context being any in which we can be called out for our hypocrisy.
So we are color-blind, except when we think that black people won't hear us. Then we see lots of color.
If black people MIGHT hear us, we appeal to higher principles. We get to talk about a world even more exalted than the one we're already privileged enough to live in.
This code is well-understood by us wypipo, and when any of us violate it, it's very upsetting to the wypipo.
